MAXILLARY LATERAL INCISOR PEPLACEMENT BY ORTHODONTIC TREATMENT AND ENDOSSEOUS IMPLANT

Abstract
The loss of single tooth can create functional, esthetic, and emotional problems for the patient. In most situations, traditional prosthodontic techniques can be used for the rehabilitation of these patients. However, these methods do not guarantee best treatment results, particularly when intact or generally spaced dentitons are to be treated. Orthodontic treatment and the use of a single implant supporting the missing tooth therefore becomes an alternative treatment consideration for such patients.
- When endosseous implants are used for the replacment of maxillary lateral incisor, alveolar bone shape and bone quality in addition to the surgical complication can be the most limiting factors for the success of the treatment in spite of the development of materials. The proper space regaining at the root area for endosseous implant by orthodontic treatment can be another factor for the good prognosis of the replacement.
